FY 2010 National Training Conference on Responding to Crime Victims with Disabilities (PDF 384 kb)
A competitive program that will award up to $800,000 to plan, execute, evaluate, and provide scholarships for a national-scope training conference for practitioners who respond to the victimizations of persons with disabilities. The conference must provide state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary training to enhance practitioner responses to victims with disabilities and to further strategic partnerships at the local, state, and national levels to enhance victims' access to the criminal justice system and needed services and support. Applicants are limited to nonprofit organizations that are national in scope and whose mission focuses on crime victimization or disability issues. Those applying are urged to begin the application process well in advance of the April 27, 2010 deadline.

OVC FY10 National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims (PDF 119 kb)
OVC will award one grant in the amount of $150,000 to plan and hold a national event on September 25, 2010, in Washington, D.C., to coincide with the 2010 National Day of Remembrance and produce technical assistance packets for victim service providers. The event will provide an opportunity to network and share knowledge with allied professionals and to disseminate information nationwide about the issues that surviving victims of homicide face and how to better support and serve those victims. Applicants are limited to private nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and community-based organizations, and public agencies. Those applying are urged to begin the application process well in advance of the April 8, 2010, deadline.

FY 2010 Victim Assistance Professional Development Fellowship Program (PDF 124 kb)
This competitive program will award cooperative agreements of up to $135,000 each for up to six fellowships to support OVC's outreach activities. Fellowships specifically will address victim assistance and compensation; tribal communities; underserved crime victims; evidence-based training and technical assistance; federal and military victim assistance; and financial fraud and non-violent crime. Grant recipients will work onsite at OVC in Washington, D.C. Those applying are urged to begin the application process well in advance of the April 27, 2010 deadline.

Helping Outreach Programs to Expand (HOPE) III (PDF 409 kb)
Four cooperative agreements of $250,000 and one cooperative agreement of $500,000 will be awarded to assess and expand the goals and impact of the crime victim services field. Grantees will collectively undertake a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the crime victims' field in the U.S., with each grantee conducting a critical portion of the analysis; and develop a consensus document that provides a philosophical and strategic framework for defining the role of the field in the country's response to crime and moving the field forward in the future. Those applying are urged to begin the application process well in advance of the April 20, 2010, deadline.

OVC Publishing Guidelines (Third Edition, revised March 2010)
This OVC guide (NCJ 229712) describes the criteria you must follow when preparing all types of communication products for publication. It includes guidance on developing e-publications and producing multimedia products that will help expedite the publishing process. Of special importance are submission deadlines and requirements (including file setup guidelines). Other topics include the publishing process, product types, writing tips, and legal and policy requirements. The guidelines are designed to help grantees, vendors, and others work more efficiently with OVC to produce quality products that exceed professional standards of excellence. e-only icon

Children’s Justice Act Partnerships for Indian Communities 2008 (June 2008)
Since 1989, OVC’s Children’s Justice Act grant program has provided funds and technical assistance to help AI/AN communities to better handle serious child abuse cases from disclosure and investigation through prosecution and case resolution.
