Please respond to the following questions
additional 8x11 sheets may be attached if necessary
1. DESCRIBE THE IMPACT THAT VOCA FUNDS HAVE HAD ON YOUR PROGRAM'S ABILITY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CRIME VICTIMS. Section IV Other: Relocation, $1,023; Travel Cost to Court $0; Catastrophic Injury $100,000 and Travel expenses to treatment facilities $142,092. ====== VOCA funds enabled us to retire a $2,000,000 deficit in pending claims. We have been able to decrease the award time from 24 months to our normal 6-8 months.

2. HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR PROGRAM'S EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN REDUCING THE FINANCIAL IMPACTH OF CRIME ON VICTIMS? WHAT ARE THE RESULTS? This office is very aware of the necessity of making sure that crime victims who file claims are satisfied with the treatment of their claims. Claimants have the option of filling response sheets to the Finding of Fact and Recommendation of the Claim Investigators and they have an opportunity for a hearing if they desire to appeal the Order enter(ed) by the Court. A review of the response sheets and remarks made to staff are indicative of claimant's appreciation of the funds forthcoming from our program to pay and satisfy the economic losses.

3. DID YOUR STATE USE VOCA ADMINSTRATIVE FUNDS? YES IF YOUR STATE USED VOCA ADMINSTRATIVE FUNDS, PLEASE DESCRIBE THE IMPACT THESE FUNDS HAVE HAD ON YOUR STATE'S ABILITY TO PROVIDE COMPENSATION OR IMPROVE VICTIM SERVICES. We have been able to attend crime victim related conferences that otherwise we would not have been able to attend. We recently were authorized to hire an assistant claim investigator with the understanding that we would have to use the available administrative funds to pay salary and benefits.
