The Philippines has a victim compensation program to provide financial compensation to victims

of violent or personal crime.

Eligibility Requirements
Report to Police: Yes; no time limit.
Filing Period: Within 6 months of the crime.

Claimants

Procedures

A claimant can obtain an application from the Board of Claims through the Justice Department. U.S. citizens may obtain applications from the U.S. Embassy in Manila. The Board of Claims is required to render a decision within 30 days. Victims should request copies of all medical records from treating hospitals and physicians.

Benefits & Award Limits
The maximum award in Pesos is 10,000
(U.S. $400).

The program does not offer emergency compensation awards.
