As of September 25, 2007, the memorial contained close to 3,500 names of murdered victims. The U.S. Capitol Police Honor Guard was on hand to assist in the unveiling. See photo. The event was an elegant and dignified way to memorialize the first-ever National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.
