Components of a Successful Replication

Memorandum of Understanding

One of the most important functions of a successful partnership is the establishment of collaborative efforts that build relationships, trust, and a sense of a common goal. To successfully replicate BPI, develop memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to foster relationship building for those involved in reporting, investigating, or prosecuting crimes committed against persons with disabilities.

MOUs should include—

  • A statement of purpose, outlining the roles and responsibilities of each signatory agency.
  • Names of participating agencies, with designated contacts.
  • Goals of the MOU.
  • Protocols for reporting, investigating, and prosecuting crimes committed against persons with disabilities.
  • A review and evaluation, to assess its effectiveness.
